My favorite filters are Pro Contrast, Tonal contrast, Contrast color range, Brilliance/warmth and Classical soft focus. Most often i use Pro contrast and this image was no exception. I don´t believe I added any noise reduction in Photoshop that was done in Lightroom. After I added some overall contrast to the image it was time to sharpen. I used the high pass filter HPF in photoshop to do the sharpening. An amount of 2,5 was enough in this case. Enchanted Oak I have passed this oak a number of times when I have been out hiking in the Järva field. The oak is very old and has a magical mystery about it. Every time I passed, I thought that the oak could in the right conditions be a really nice photo. It just takes a little better light and atmosphere. So one day when I look out over the landscape it is foggy and I decide to give it a try. It´s situated in the northern part of Sweden near the Norwegian border. If you plan on walking Kungsleden then your journey will probably start in this area. There is a beautiful small clearwater river running through the area called Abiskojåkka. A lonely pine tree clings to the ground and struggles to set root. The ground is hard but the air is soft as silk. I feel the smell of the ocean when I slowly compose my image and press the shutter. As I wander through the woods in order to reach my planned location I'm stumbling upon a big Oak tree with broken stems anchored to the ground. The autumn is in full bloom so the leafs glow in yellow in the evening sun. Its a place full och chaos but in midst of all the chaos, the oak and the dead trunks forms a frame that reveals a depth of the forest. Njupeskär is known as Sweden's highest waterfall and comprises a total of 125 meters, 93 meters in an almost vertical fall. It´s a beautiful waterfall at the bottom of lake Torneträsk. A beginning wide path follows the fall through the beautiful mountain birch forest. The last bit down to the fall narrows the path and it becomes quite steep. It's worth getting down all the way as you get the finest view of the waterfall. The sun's rays struggle to penetrate the dense vegetation. There is heat in the air and the birds are singing in a homogeneous song. Other birds respond in the distance and they coexist in perfect harmony. An old stump is rising up from the ground. It was once a big tree full of life. Now its covered in the moss and by the tales of time. The waves hit the beach in a rhythmic melody. Two sea stacks appear majestic as I step out of the forest down the beach to reach my goal. I'm here to photograph the sea stacks at Folhammar natural reserve on eastern shores on the island of Gotland. I see two intertwined Raukar standing stately surrounded by the waves from the ocean. They embrace each other and they are alike as two peas in a pod. We drove up to Ersfjord to look at the mountains called "Dragons teeth rock" and then went further north up to Mefjordvaer. Here we found a mountain formation that looked like a woman laying down in the midday sun. They illuminate the landscape below with its warm and gentle light. A couple of apple trees with their gnarled branches are singing gently in the wind. It's an ancient song that has been sung by the trees for centuries. And every now and then they wiggle with the branches to keep the beat. It's the way it's always been. The will of life is strong in nature and it grasps every possibility and tiny straw. A single pine tree has found its home on this tiny island of stone. It´s a battle with the constant wind and the harsh climate while its branches and pine needles reaching up high in the air for the warmth of the sun. This is Life in its essence. It was kinda a mad scramble in order to be set up. Look closely on the mountain behind the fishing village. What do you see? The picture is overlooking lake Storuman that connects to the "river of Umeå". This lake is situated just north of Stockholm at the Nature reserve of Molnsätra. Its calm and fairly warm and I feel that the spring is here and summer is getting closer. It's a small fisherman's island located just outside the cost of Kinnbäck in Västerbotten Sweden. It's a beautiful place that has lots to offer to visitors. On the Island, there is this chapel that was built in 1771 for the fisherman who had houses in the fishing village. In 1821 Pite-Rönnskär became a pilot station, and in 1849 a pilot cabin was built on the island. The oak is very old and has a magical mystery about it. Every time I passed, I thought that the oak could in the right conditions be a really nice photo.
